Surlingham Tornados Newsletter

Surlingham Tornados FC News Letter

Training Timetable:-
-There will be a break from training over the half term week. No training on Saturdays 24th or 31st October.
-Normal training resumes on Saturday 7th November. Training times are 10:30am to 12:00pm. We often finish a little later if the weather is good and the children are enjoying a match. If you need to leave it is okay to call your children from the pitch.

Fixtures:-
-Thurton School, Tuesday 10th November at 15:00 on Surlingham School field.
-Mulbarton FC, time to be confirmed.

News:-
-As you can see above, FOSS FC has a new name. We asked the children to think of a new name for the club expecting lots of United’s, Rangers, and Athletico’s. However we were pleasantly surprised to see a long list of ingenious and often funny names. Four were chosen and the children then voted for their favourite. The winner was Surlingham Tornadoes, a name created by Millie.
-The entrees for the design a logo competition are in. The winner will be announced and be presented with a small prize at training on the 7th November.

New Look Committee:-
-At the recent parents evening we formed the new committee bringing the club in line with the FA regulations, allowing us to continue with the registration process over the next month.

Chairperson – James Summerfield Vice Chairperson – Mike Pittaccio
Treasurer – James Dimmock Secretary – Roisin Cahill
Child Welfare Officer – Tim Taylor

-If any parents have a talent for fundraising we would love to have some volunteers to organise fundraising events for the club.

Fees:-
-Due to the need to raise money for new equipment so that we are able to secure the future of the club it was decided at the parents evening to charge £1 per training session, starting on the 7th November. Although we hope that this will be okay for the majority, we also appreciate that every child should have the opportunity to play football. Because of this we will not be collecting names of who has paid and who hasn’t. All you or your children need to do is hand the fee to Glynis at the beginning of training.
-We will shortly send out a budget report setting out our expected income and expenditure for the next year. This will give you more information on exactly what we will be purchasing to improve the facilities of the club.

Thank you:-
-We would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and children for their continued support. We hope that the club is meeting your needs and expectations.
