Welcome to Willow Class!
Willow Class is a small mixed 5/6 year group, with Mrs Burbage as our teacher. Although there is support from other adults; Mrs Lloyd is our teaching assistant, Pro-coach leads one PE lesson, whilst Snr. Vives takes our class on Thursday afternoon and teaches us Spanish.
In Willow Class there is a strong ethos of working to achieve our potential, always giving our best and we are encouraged to keep our minds open to new learning. We challenge ourselves, which includes accepting making mistakes – this is one of the best ways we can learn! As well as striving to achieve our best across the core curriculum subjects of Literacy, Mathematics and Science, we investigate through our ‘inquiry’ based curriculum the foundation subjects including; computing, Art and Design, Design Technology, RE, PHSE and Spanish.
We also hold great value in our social skills, working as a team, supporting each other, being kind and accepting each other as highly valuable individuals. Ellie commented, “We always have fun here, we’re never left out and always have lots of help if we need it.” Furthermore, we see ourselves as setting an example to all the younger children throughout the school, whilst ensuring we develop ourselves, so we are prepared to move on to the next stage in our school careers.
And most importantly we have fun and laugh as we are learning. Violet believes we should “live life and love school!”
